About this species

The titan arum produces a towering inflorescence that can exceed three metres. Like the rafflesia, it releases a powerful carrion scent when blooming, drawing pollinating beetles and flies.

Between rare flowerings it stores energy in one of the largest known corms — sometimes over 50 kg. YKRI's Bunga Bangkai Project is dedicated to its conservation and propagation.
